Every Islander’s Everyday Fruit Mix

I don’t post foodie pics but there’s something about this one that I liked.  It represents what Hawaii islanders eat on a regular basis.  Look in any of our fridge’s and I’m certain you’ll find at least one, if not all, of these fruits inside: apple bananas, pineapple, papaya, and avocados.

If you walk around any given Hawaii neighborhood, guaranteed you’ll find these growing on trees (except pineapple).  If these fruits are hanging over a sidewalk, you can legally pick them. There is something really, really cool about walking around your neighborhood and picking a fresh avocado on your afternoon walk.

Big Mahalo to Cynthia Sherstad!

Photos from our subscribers, especially amateur ones, are my favorites because they illustrate how incredibly beautiful Hawaii is and anyone with a phone can take stunning shots. Mahala Cynthia for sharing!
