A Red Hawaiian Sunset Can you imagine what it must be like for the fisherman on this kayak? This photo makes it easy to put yourself in their place. And if you can't be in the water, you could at least be standing on the shoreline having a drink and soaking it all in, right?
Getting a little too close to the lava I believe this practice of taking tour boats this close to the lava flows has been banned due to a tragic incident where people were hurt, if not killed due to a unpredictable lava explosion that occurred and hit passengers on the boat with red-hot rock. So
Swimming in awesome tidepools! This is a dangerous activity so only do this with someone that has done it before and knows the area and conditions. That said, there are few things as totally cool as swimming in natural tidepools like this one. If you ever get the chance to do this safely, it's unforgettable.
Sunset at Magic Island Here's another view easily within your reach - a short drive from Waikiki to Ala Moana Beach Park's Magic Island. You can sit on the rocks and gaze as the sun falls into the ocean right before your eyes. Enjoy! Sunset On Magic Island by Edmund Garman is licensed under
The perfect shorebreak wave Here's the wave that bodysurfers dream of: glassy conditions, a perfect day, and waves you can surf until you reach exhaustion. While you can't surf this one right now, we can still dream, right? Crystal clear... by Phil Gibbs is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 2.0. Image may have been resized
Rainbow Falls on the Big Island Just a short drive outside of Hilo town on the Big Island will bring you to this dramatic waterfall view that you can actually hike around. This shot is on a particularly heavy day but Hilo's naturally wet climate will always give you some kind of waterfall. It's definitely
Cliffs at the Pali Lookout Here's a view within everyone's reach (that visits Oahu) and that's the cliffs at the famous Pali Lookout. This is a must-visit stop that will reward you of both dramatic views and a very important historic location. Pali Cliffs by 66277514@N00 is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 2.0. Image may
Flowing, molten lava at night There's something very primal about a lava flow and you end up gazing at it much like a sunset. The red glow is unlike anything you've ever seen. Here's a close-up view you'll probably never see in person. Enjoy! Untitled by 57845051@N00 is licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0. Image
Sunset and Crashing Waves What is it about sunsets that attracts a crowd of people to just sit and stare at the setting sun? Whatever it is, you can feel yourself wanting to do the same with this classic Hawaiian combination of ocean, sunset, crashing waves, and a rocky coastline. Enjoy! unrest by paul
Hiker's paradise: Kauai's Napali Coast This view is shared by only a handful lucky hikers and it's Kauai's Napali Coastline. This is a somewhat uncommon view - it's not as dramatic of others (that I will be publishing!) but I like it because it's exactly what it looks like if you hike this far. Definitely
The jungle waterfall you find on hikes across Hawaii While there's nothing particularly dramatic about this waterfall, I chose it because it's the kind of "everyday waterfall" you'll find on hikes throughout Hawaii. It also "comes with pool" that of course is the perfect refreshing cool-down after a hot hike. Waterfall by Ben Zibble
An other-worldly picture of "Pele's Well" I don't know if this place is officially called Pele's Well, but it might as well have. It's almost like an oil painting and to me it has this other-worldly appearance An incredible well located on the coast of Kailua, Hawaii at sunset. PelesWell by 26053838@N00 is licensed
