Cockroach Cove – Oahu’s Hidden Beach

If you’ve ever driven past Halona Blowhole on Oahu’s southeastern coast, you might have noticed a small beach tucked between the cliffs. That’s Cockroach Cove, also known as Kaupo Bay—a spot that feels like a secret, even though it’s just off the highway.

Despite its name, there’s nothing unappealing about this place. The turquoise waters, soft sand, and dramatic rock formations make it one of Oahu’s most picturesque beaches. It’s a favorite for swimming, sunbathing, and even cliff-jumping, but the waves can be strong, so always be cautious.

It’s the kind of place you stumble upon and never forget.
