Are We All Criminals in Hawaii On New Years Eve?
Aerial fireworks are illegal in Hawaii and on Oahu, all fireworks are illegal. You would never conclude that after watching this video and listening to the lively discussion. Let me know what you think!
Do you have a question for me that you would like answered on YouTube? Let me know in this form below.
I don’t agree that we all are illegal in terms of doing fireworks. As a pet owner with older dogs tranquilizers are not an option due to other health issues.
The length of time- 1 pm to 1 am is too much!
Thank you for sharing. We too had an elderly dog. The “we’re all criminals” is a dramatization, not a statement of fact.
There are a lot of vets living here and many suffer from PTSD. So the illegal and random fireworks has a major and negative impact. Fireworks going off from 1 pm to 1 am is not a good thing. It needs to be continued and not going on for hours all over O’ahu.
I have no issue with cites doing fireworks in a controlled way for a specific period of time.
Also many houses are close together here and the fire hazard is real. Especially with current dry and drought impacted vegetation.
Thank you for sharing
I currently live in Hawaii, Oahu though I am not a native. I do however enjoy all the joy and celebrating done for new years eve. In this seemingly interminable age if destruction and corruption, our minds are constantly burdened down by fear on all fronts and it does the heart good to spend some time enjoying special celebrations here in Hawaii. If the government were wise they would offer free classes on the proper handling of fireworks safely and then leave the people alone to enjoy them. Mahalo for allowing us to share our thoughts.
Mahalo Millie for sharing yours!
Not just the Chinese, Filipinos too! Fireworks and loud banging on your pots and pans and loud whooping all express JOY for the New Year. So, you woo-woo people complaining about fireworks, too bad. You can’t fight tradition. Secure your pets, wear earplugs, but please quit complaining. It will do you no good. We love our tradition of ushering in the New Year with joyous fireworks.
Mahalo for sharing! That explains why Waipahu was so crazy!
