A gem of a beach on Maui – Big Beach
What the locals call “Big Beach” at Makena holds a very special place in my heart – it was the very first Hawaiian beach I ever stepped into and it changed my life forever after. This specific shot is on a “big day” where the waves are dangerously large but on otherwise calm days this place is simply amazing. Enjoy!

I love the islands and the native Hawaiian people. I have been going there since 1972 while in the Army. One of my Army buds was a pure Hawaiian. He invited me to visit him and his family when I discharged from service. It was one of the best month of my life. Sorry to say he is no longer with us but the love he instill in me for the islands and the Hawaiian people will never leave me. Aloha Bob.
I have visited all the islands even Nikita set aside by the Parker family for the Hawaiian people. I love the Hawaiian people and intend to build my hut on property I own on the Big Island id Pele allows me to.
