Normally I don’t talk about current news items but this one has to be an exception for several reasons. Yesterday (Sunday, Jan 19), I had a close family member text me that she was under lockdown due to an active shooter. I immediately raced to the scene in an attempt to get her evacuated. By the time I got there, the place was absolutely surrounded by police, SWAT, and fire teams. Thankfully, she was removed from the situation and we got to safety pretty quickly.
A friend of mine that I’ve known for decades, Stephany Sofos, happened to be right in the middle of the action and she had the presence of mind to take live Facebook videos. If you want a first-person view of what happened, uncut, unedited – this is it. It’s pretty intense so if you have kids, you may want to watch it first and decide if you want to expose them to it.
