If you’re looking for something to do in Honolulu, on Oahu, Hawaii – Diamond Head Trail is open for business, but during reduced hours during the week. On the weekends – you’ll have all day to enjoy the trail.

Some improvements were made to the trail to make it more stable and protect it from rain run-off that has been deteriorating the trail for years.

Back in the fall of 2011 the State began other repairs to the thin trails that follow the ridge of the volcano – they have been deteriorating quite a lot over the years. Those renovations are done now and the hike is open to the public. Ever since the post-COVID reopening there may be restrictions to so make sure you check ahead to confirm access and hours.

If you haven’t made it to Diamond Head Volcano trail – you’re missing an amazing view and experience. Don’t let age, weight, or physical activity stop you from going – people of all sorts finish the climb to the top. Do consult with your doctor if you have health issues you’re unsure about.
