How does Hawaii’s “Aloha Spirit” play out during these Corona-virus lockdown times? I take a few minutes to point out how our island cultural values make all the difference in the world here.
Got a question for me to cover? Let me know in this form below.
I love the updates and cultural insight while looking at the gorgeous drive. Thanks for the videos! It’s hard being on the mainland where a pandemic has been turned political, there is lack of leadership, and some people do what they want with no concern for others. Glad to know Hawaii is not like that. I’m not surprised! Take care
Don’t mistake my commentary about the people of Hawaii to be associated with the State of Hawaii. Two very, very different things.
Oh okay, that makes sense.
Aloha Peter! I have kept up with your site since we started planning our move about a decade ago. We’ve been here for 3 years now and it’s been a great decision. I am of Asian descent and agree that the Asian and Polynesian influences have shaped how Hawaiians are handling the pandemic. Most of us were raised with a deep rooted sense of respect for all that surrounds us. Not just our blood relatives, but those around us. Everyone older than us is our auntie or uncle. And we were mostly raised to have that same respect for the earth and nature that provide for us. I enjoyed the view in your video, as well as your perspective!
Mahalo Jennifer! Really appreciate that!
Glad to see you doing well over there. Looking forward to coming to visit again when we can, and someday move there.
Surviving! Thanks Steve!
