On this day I realized that I had the Corona Virus Blues and it was only because I did something to snap me out of it. It was so significant that I made this unplanned, unscripted, impromptu video to capture the moment. Hope it helps you and I’d love to know what you think of it and perhaps what you did to cure your own blues (assuming you had them) and how it feels afterwards!

We have received your videos and posts for over two years, and feel that you are very responsible for our making the move and lifestyle change to Hawaii.
We moved here from Bellevue, Washington exactly one year ago. My husband and I were native Washingtonians, we had visited Hawaii many times for vacation for over 40 years. As a tourist, we always felt it was our “second” home. We loved the sunshine, the ocean, the flowers, the “aloha spirit”.
We retired from our jobs in 2019, after working almost 50 years. We sold our house for an outrageous amount (economy was very good in King County) which enabled and afforded us the opportunity to live in Oahu, in the heart of Waikiki.
Your weekly videos helped us plan for the move. Everything we needed to know was covered. There were no surprises or unexpected things that we should know. From May 2019 – January,2020 we have been living our dream….enjoying the beach, swimming, participating in all the events, parades, celebrations, etc. Our grown son, daughter-in-law,, and grandson visited and stayed with us twice during this time period. It was paradise!
Then the virus and lockdown hit. We are fortunate to be in good health, retired with money in the bank, no worries…except that we really miss our family from the mainland. We had hoped to have our grandson stay with us for the summer. All events, plays, musical venues, etc. have been cancelled. Life has become boring. Except we still have the sunshine, the beach, ocean swimming with turtles, and the beautiful year round flowers and fauna to enjoy. It is still paradise, but just a little bit different.
We yearn for things to return to normal. Tourists need to come back, The economy needs to open back up. Events need to happen again…Friday night fireworks at the Hilton, etc.
Your weekly postings and videos have continued to help us appreciate our new lifestyle. Thank you for your positive postings. Please keep it up. You did a good job in getting us to come here. Videos and postings about coping with the “new” normal are helpful. Good job! You are the best!
Mahalo for the kind words! I’m so glad you made your move! There’s a bug on my website that puts some comments in “Trash” and I only discovered it today…but better late than never!
