Hiking Likeke Falls Hike on Oahu

I’ve already said this before and I will say it again, waterfall hikes are the absolute best Likeke Falls Hike is definitely one for your list. They are at the top of my list and I absolutely love them doing them. Yes, waterfall hikes do get a little muddy but they are so worth it. I love being encompassed in a jungle with high moisture and reaching a gorgeous waterfall at the end, not to mention waterfall pics are the best kinds of pics. And waterfalls with deep pools are even better because you can grab your bikini and hop in with your girlfriends!

Likeke Falls Hike Parking & Trail information

Parking is at the Pali lookout, where everyone else parks. The trailhead is at the end of the old Pali road, so you’ll walk out to the lookout and then gear right and head down the road. Follow this road all the way down until you reach a “Road Closed” sign. Keep walking past this sign and the Likeke Falls Hike trail is pretty easy to follow from here on out. It’s pretty straightforward, and there are trail markers along the way. At some point you’ll have to travel under the highway, which is pretty cool, actually. Keep following the Likeke Falls Hike trail, and you’ll reach the waterfall at some point. The trail is straightforward and very easy to track. The trail is an in-n-out structure so head out the same way you came in. It’s about 5 miles roundtrip and took my friends and I about 3 hours (because we stopped and took a lot of pictures.) If you’re more fit than us (you probably are,) you should finish the hike in 2 hours.

Likeke Falls Hike Recommendations

I highly recommend wearing clothing that you’re prepared to trash. I wore white nikes and a white jacket and that was probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. I’m not sure why I did that. The Likeke Falls hike is severely muddy and whatever you wear will be damaged. I ended up washing my nikes and got most of the mud out, but they’ll still never be the same. My jacket is also tinted brown because of that hike. I also recommend bringing some form of bug repellant to fight the mosquitoes because where there are waterfalls there are also mosquitoes. This Likeke Falls hike is definitely dog friendly and kid friendly. I wish I had brought my dog because he would have loved it, Spuds is an avid hiker and loves being outdoors.

Best part of Likeke Falls Hike?

My favorite part about this Likeke Falls hike is that it doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic like most waterfall hikes. Most waterfall hikes (Maunawili especially,) get really packed. I did this with my friends one weekend while we were all at home Christmas break and we had so much fun getting muddy and taking pictures at the Likeke Falls hike waterfall. We didn’t have to worry about people being in our pictures or a cramped walkway on the hike, because it was pretty much just us on the hike. I think throughout the entire hike we only saw 4 or 5 people, and I’m fine with that.
