COVID19 Hawaii charts 4/7/2020 daily update: KEEP IT UP.
Our 3 day average growth rate continues to drop and while hospitalization took it’s biggest jump (+16), the (new graph shows) overall cases in isolation (incl hospitalization) has actually dropped by 1 since yesterday to 297. Let’s pray that this leveling trend continues.
Today’s +5.9% growth in cases is far below our comparison benchmark growth rates (Global, US, Japan, Spain).
All suggestions and commentary is welcome!
thank you for kind information we do not here Hawaii mentioned how sad. Mahalo
Mahalo Peter for that link, there was some information there I was not aware of. Yes, I do not want to back out on the landlord at this point, but I am concerned as to how to get to food while in quarantine. I am shipping a box of food and staples but will need additional fresh food during the 14 days. I am renting on the north shore and not sure if there are many places that deliver out there and I do not have any local family or friends to assist me.
North Shore is going to be a challenge – it’s a very tight-knit community and this isolation is going to make it that much tighter. IDK about deliveries over there but there has to be some way for people to get food.
Aloha Peter. I have been planning to move to Hawaii for the last year and I fly out on May 1st. I am selling my house and have already put a deposit down on a rental in Oahu. I have to be out of my current house the end of April due to the sale. My question is should I consider postponing my move during this pandemic? I am healthy and from a rural area that has zero cases as of today. I do not have place to live here once my house closes in a few weeks, so I figured I would just go ahead with plans and do my quarantine in Hawaii. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts?
Tough call. What’s your economic situation? The jobs here are getting destroyed.
I will have enough to live on for several years from the sale of my house. Once things get back to some kind of new normal, I will be building my portrait photography business back up.
Since you already put down a deposit on a rental, it would bring more harm to the landlord if you backed out now. Since you don’t need a job, you will be helping the economy here by bringing in outside money and spending on required things. Make sure you have a good quarantine plan if you decide to come out. I’m not here to tell you one way or the other, but I am doing my best to point out the facts. Here’s another op-ed to consider as well. LMK what you decide! https://www.livinginhawaii.com/hawaii-covid-19-resources/should-you-visit-hawaii-during-the-covid-19-outbreak/
Aloha Peter. I read exceptions for social distancing included going swimming and surfing. Is this true??
beaches and parks are closed but one can go in the water.
